• Located in the southeast corner of Kansas about midway between Pittsburg, KS and Joplin, MO, First Christian Church in Columbus is a friendly and inviting Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation with something for all ages.  This church has roots that trace back to its founding in 1871. The current church building has undergone several renovations and updates, but it still maintains a graceful charm.  The stained glass windows are among the most beautiful in the four-states area, often evoking a sense of awe in worshippers.

First Christian has a strong Wednesday evening youth program for all ages, and the rotational Sunday School program uses innovative activities, presentations, storytelling and projects to bring the Scriptures alive for the children.  There is an on-site full-service daycare for infants through kindergarden, and after-school care for older children.

This congregation is dedicated to serving Columbus and the surrounding area, which is primarily agricultural.  Service and mission projects, both local and abroad, are an important component to the mission of First Christian Church.  Come and visit us!  We think we are the friendliest church in the area.
